Attractive Attraction

How to improve and be Attractive

The Power of Focus

Do you often find yourself worrying about the things you don’t want in your life? Like “I don’t want to be alone forever”, “I don’t want my partner to leave me”, “I don’t want to get to 60 and wonder what if…”, “I don’t want to be poor and struggling for money all the time?”

Fill in the blank: “I don’t want….” We all have them. Too many of them.

The amazing thing is that we spend an awful lot of time focussing on what we DON’T want rather than what we do want. The consequences? We spend a lot more time feeling terrible about where we are and our lot in life and about what the future may NOT bring. What also happens is that we tend to attract more of the things we DON’T want (life’s way of throwing irony in our face). So we’re busy thinking about all the things we DON’T want to happen, feeling pretty miserable, and then all of a sudden we are stuck in traffic jams, bumped into by a cranky shopper in the supermarket with an evil glare, receiving nasty emails from an irate colleague. This leaves us feeling even worse and we may crash the car, a tree branch goes through the roof, and the dog develops a pussy oozing cyst that requires expensive surgery.

Anyone had a week like that?!

Well there is an alternate way of existing. Let’s take the ‘don’t wants’ from the list above and see what it feels like to change them a little…

“I want a loving partner who cherishes me and honours me.”

“I want to experience all of life’s adventures for years to come with my fabulous adoring partner.”

“I want to get to 60 and feel “wow” that was fabulous! I love my life! I love my friends! I want more!”

Feel good? Want to feel even better? Try it from the present tense:

“I have a loving partner who cherishes me and honours me.”

“I am experiencing all of life’s adventures with my fabulous adoring partner.”

“I am 60 and I feel “wow” that was fabulous! I love my life! I love my friends! I want more!”

Notice how you feel reading this last set. This is a place of power and positive intentions. Use this strategy for everything you want - from a parking space near the entrance to the shops, to a new job, to the perfect partner.

Want to learn more about this? Read Lynn Grabhorn’s “Excuse Me, Your LIFE is Waiting”. I mentioned this book in the last edition. A few of you have gone out and are currently devouring it (I told you it was good!) Get it - now! Then tell me what kind of results you are getting with it - I want to hear all the stories!

As for me, I use this technique and I consistently get parking spots with ease, and my contact database doubled my target numbers for the month in one week! Go on - what are you waiting for!

Tune in Your Antenna Harness the Power of Emotional Energy

In this article we’ll look at some basic facts around energy, how it affects you and others, and how to make use of this knowledge to foster good health.

The facts, as we’ve been told
Albert Einstein’s work shows us that all matter is energy. Every single thing is made up of tiny bits of energy - bits of neutrons, protons, and a nucleus - all mostly empty space with all the little bits flying around, or vibrating. These little bits arrange themselves in particular patterns to form your body, a table, your coffee mug, and even your thoughts. All energy travels in waves and has different amplitude and frequencies. (Drew Rozell, The Magnet - Law of Attraction newsletter, May 2006 edition).

The indestructibility of energy
Energy cannot be created or destroyed - just transformed in to a different form of energy. E.g. food in tummy turns to muscle, blood, waste, and heat.

The connection of all things
We are all made out of the same ’stuff’- energy. Every thing - live or inanimate - is connected due to the premise that we are all made of the same stuff.

The vibrations of all things
Nothing is in essence ’solid’ or ’still’ - everything is vibrating at a (usually) undetected frequency.

How vibrations affect other things
Energy travels in waves. Energy waves are attracted to other waves of the same frequency. Vibrations create energy waves. Thus things, people, and thoughts of the same frequency of vibrations are attracted to one another.

How vibrations affect your body
Thoughts are energy impulses created when the cells in your brain fire off messages. These energy impulses go through your body in waves. Sometimes the thought-energy waves are of an intense frequency. We call this ‘emotion’ (’energy in motion’).

Thoughts/emotions leave your body as energy waves. This has been measured and photographed in different experiments. See Dr Emoto’s study of the effect of thought on water crystals at http://www.whatthebleep.com/crystals/.

“So thanks for the basic science lesson,” you say, “but what does this mean in practical terms and why should I care?”

Intense emotion with its intense energy wave can affect the body’s cells in a positive or negative way, depending on the frequency. Negative thoughts and emotion tend to have a destructive vibration, while positive thoughts and vibrations invigorate and stimulate the cells. Positive emotions tend to boost your immune system. The saying “laughter is the best medicine” is founded on the science of positive vibrations.

Tune in your antenna
There are waves of energy flowing around and through us all the time. Like a radio antenna, we can tune in to the frequencies we want to ‘listen’ to, and tune out the ones we do not. This is good news because it means we can consciously choose to receive only waves that are good for us, make us feel good, and create a positive experience. We can thus avoid a lot of the nasty vibrations. With awareness comes the opportunity to harness our thoughts and emotions, and therefore our health and ultimately our destiny. It is an exciting place to be in, a fun place to play in!

So how do tune in our antenna to ward off the negative vibes and groove with the good ones?
We need to set our antenna to vibrate at the right frequency. We do this by ensuring we are feeling good vibrations (yes, the Beach Boys were on to something!).

1. Start noticing your body. Do an internal body check when you wake up and when you go to sleep- mentally scan your body for how it feels, any areas of pain, stiffness, soreness, or discomfort. These are clues to disturbances in your thoughts/energy patterns. Focus on the most intense part of the discomfort and just observe. This will help release some of the built up tension there and change the frequency of your mental/emotional vibrations.

2. Start noticing the beauty and abundance around you in small and fleeting things. When driving, set out to see and enjoy beauty - look for it, find it in the sky, the birds, and the colour of the gum leaves. Observing the beauty of nature is a powerful way of ‘tuning in’ to the strength and goodness of the life force. I always feel very connected when I go to my garden and witness the miracle of life surging out of the dirt in the multiple shapes of trees, flowers, vegetables, fruit trees. How do these things do this??? How does a brilliant rose come from the dirt??? This is when I bow to the greater power of the universe and feel completely blessed to be a part of it, to be connected to it.

3. Find joy in small moments, in the very present ‘now’. One of my favourite ways of finding peace is to observe the neighbour’s cat. She saunters in to our garden every day - completely immersed in the moment, looks around, stretches out or curls up in the sun. She has no concern of the past or worry for the future - she simply is. When I pat her and she meows back at me and purrs - the simple delight of sharing a moment of tenderness with another living thing fills me with happiness - in this moment there is no pain, no worry, no fear - it simply ‘is’ - and this feels good. From that place I can then go on to my various responsibilities with greater clarity and calm - something inside me know that the universe is working on a higher plane - from a place that triggers tiny seeds to develop magnificent flowers - and it is in the wonder of this moment I find comfort, connection, safety, and peace.

Take Action Now:
Here are some ways to tune your antenna to “groove”:

1. Here is a 6-minute video on the “Evolution of Dance” that I can guarantee get you giggling and groovin’. You need a computer with sound to fully appreciate this one!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMH0bHeiRNg

2. Click on this link: www.mayyoubeblessedmovie.com - and sit back and enjoy the reminders of what really matters in life. This is a wonderful video initiative that runs for around two minutes and is a positive and uplifting motivational piece. I liked it; it touched and moved me. Enjoy.

3. Go out in to the wilderness. Nothing inspires like nature. Climb a hill, sit under a tree, walk by a creek. Feel part of this world in all its majesty, brilliance, and beauty.

Power of Intentions

I want you to have fun and play with this experiment for a week. I figure if we can get a whole bunch of people doing some really positive things, then potentially some really cool things could happen - for all of us.

The experiment is all about intentions.

I have noticed that as soon as people sign up for coaching, big things - good things - start to happen in their lives. First of all they feel a whole lot better. Then cool things, groovy opportunities open up for them, even before we have really started our first session. Things like people get a new job offer, someone buys them flowers, or they start to connect on a whole new level with their spouse, or they find the perfect pair of shoes they have yearned for forever.

These kinds of things are well documented. You can call it ‘attraction’, ‘placebo effect’, ‘positive thinking‘ or ’self-fulfilling prophecy’.

It doesn’t matter - it all works the same. When someone decides they want something more and want to grow, they start growing immediately. And then good things happen.

I used the power of intention to attract my husband. When I was single and had had enough of the single life, I wrote a letter to my future husband, dated the day of our wedding, telling him how much I loved him and our life together. Two months later I met the man I married. I kept the letter for three years until our actual wedding day and gave it to him on the day. The energy I had when I set about creating something really positive started a huge tidal wave of great things in my life not least of which included a fabulous life partner.

Ready to play?

Your mission is this:

Every day this week, beside your things to do list for the day, write an intention that you want for your life or business that is desired but not predictable. So beside “go to the gym” write something like “tall dark and gorgeous man asks me for a date”, beside “ring accountant” write “receive very large cheque”, beside “write report”, write “get a call from tv reporter wanting to do profile as a leading national businesswoman”, beside “write article” put “accept Oprah’s invitation to appear on her show about the new book”.

It does not matter if your logical brain is rejecting these thoughts as pure fantasy. Just go with it and have fun. Look at your written intention and imagine you have already received these things in your life - feel the wonderful feelings that come with having these opportunities in your life.

I cannot guarantee you will get these things.
However I can guarantee the following will happen:

You will immediately feel better. You will tap in to the power of ‘potential’ that is all around you.

You will bring more energy and excitement to your work and life projects and goals. As you make your list of intentions each day what you write down will start to feel real to you. You will start to write things that may in fact really happen. This will feel awesome.

You will have more energy to tackle the ugly yucky things on your to do list because you will think differently about them with a new perspective on possibilities.

Who knows? That tall, dark, and handsome man may just appear…

Do this for a week, even on the weekends. Put notes on your fridge, in your bathroom, beside your bed, in your wallet. Just have fun with this! Tell me what happens - I’d love to know - and I can let all the Compass Bearings subscribers what happened as well.

Laser Thoughts
“You are not happy because you are well. You are well because you are happy. You are not depressed because trouble has come to you, but trouble has come to you because you are depressed. You can change your thoughts and feelings, and then the outer things will come to correspond, and indeed there is no other way of working.” - Emmet Fox

And remember…
